There will always come a time when we ask ourselves why we go to Church on Sundays. When this happens, we slowly question a lot of things, especially our faith. We argue with ourselves: What is the purpose of going to Church? Why can’t I just pray on my own? When we do this, our relationship with God slowly crumbles unless we do something about it.

To be honest, I have been down this road before. It still happens sometimes, too. And so every time I ask myself the same questions over and over again, I try to justify why I should actually go to Church.

Do I have something better to do? Definitely not. How would you feel if God decided to stop caring for you because He thinks He has something better to do aside from giving you all the attention and guidance that you need? I bet you wouldn’t even last a day. It is important to keep in mind that God is only asking for a day while you have six other days all to yourself. Learn to sacrifice an hour for Him because he sacrificed His own life to save you from your sins.

I’m alone. So what? Church doesn’t require you to go in pairs or as a group. Also, you are not totally alone because although you are strangers with everyone else there, they are still your brothers and sisters. Allow yourself to share your faith with strangers because these strangers are your family one way or another. They will be the random faces in the streets who might help you pick up a fallen hat, or who might give you a lift when your car breaks down.

It’s boring. When you totally commit yourself to God, it is never boring. Try to open not only your mind but your heart as well. When you open it to Him, you will feel so much joy as you learn to appreciate the little things that life has to offer. Sing with the Church and realize that you are privileged enough to be able to celebrate with His believers.

It is not important. You got that wrong! Put Christ in the center of your being because had He not created Adam and Eve, you would not be here. You might believe in the Big Bang Theory where we came from a huge explosion but believe it or not, there are so many things that science cannot explain.

I am in doubt. Never. Although this is inevitable, fight it. When you are in doubt, you definitely have to go to Church because by going to Church, you will be able to see the people who believe in Him and they will be able to help you go back to the right path. Always remember that God is in each one of us but that there is always an evil force lurking about. Let people help you see the image of God in them.

Things are not always black and white. Sometimes, we need to see miracles to believe. But one thing’s for sure, do not stray away from the path of righteousness and never let your faith waver. The Church is your family and God is your salvation.
